Goerges began her professional career when she joined the ITF Women’s Circuit in 2005. She competed in seven tournaments during her rookie season.

She won her first WTA singles championship at the Gastein Ladies in 2010. However, she withdraws from the US Open in the second round after losing to Wickmayer.

Gorges propelled her to the final of the ASB Classic in doubles at the start of 2012.
