Katt Williams | Early Life, Family, and Education

Micah Sierra Williams known as Katt Williams was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States on September 2, 1971.

Williams first went to Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School. Following that, he attended Colonel White High School. Katt excelled in his academic pursuits there. He received a full scholarship to the National Science Academy in Dayton at the age of 12.

He separated from his parents at the age of 13 and relocated to Florida, where he made a living as a street vendor.

Stand-up Comedian

He started off doing stand-up in Cincinnati, where he was born. To make people laugh, he swiftly honed his sense of humor and his delivery style. Williams established himself in the entertainment business by 1999. He performed at “The Improv,” “The Comedy Club,” “The Icehouse,” and “The Hollywood Park Casino.”

In addition, Katt appeared in three of his comedy specials, such as Katt Williams: Live: Let a Playa Play, It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’ and Kattpacalypse. A day after an event that put him in jail, Williams declared the end of his stand-up comedy career on December 3, 2012. But three days later, he made the announcement that he is not retiring.

However, Williams’ “Growth Spurt” Tour took place in 2013. He made a comeback on August 16, 2014, HBO special titled Katt Williams: Priceless: Afterlife. In 2018, Williams debuted Great America, a brand-new stand-up special for Netflix.

Acting Career

Williams appeared in NYPD Blue in 2002, marking his acting debut. On Wild ‘n Out, where he appeared for numerous seasons, he became well-known. In 2003, he had an appearance in the official music video for “Gigolo” by Wild ‘n Out bandmate Nick Cannon.

Additionally, as Bobby Shaw, he has made multiple appearances in episodes of My Wife and Kids. In the Comedy Central roast of Flavor Flav, he served as the roastmaster.

However, Williams is best known for his role as Money Mike in Friday After Next. Williams has also performed supporting roles in movies including First Sunday and Norbit. Moreover, He provided his own voice in Grand Theft Auto IV in 2008.

Career as Musician

Williams has also performed as “Money Mike” on songs by musicians like Baby Bash, The Game, and Suga Free. Williams joined the Diplomats, a New York rapper Cameron’s group, in 2006, however, the label never officially signed him as an artist. He and Hell Rell released “Lames In The Game,” a diss song to Atlanta artist Trinidad James on November 19, 2013, in response to the rapper’s remarks on the status of modern hip-hop music.

Williams was taken into custody at the Los Angeles International Airport on November 13, 2006, when a stolen gun was discovered in his bag. He was sentenced to three years of probation, forced to pay restitution, and granted credit for the three days he spent in jail on December 14, 2006. After pleading no contest to the misdemeanor charge of concealing a handgun.

While making a movie in Coweta County, Georgia, in November 2010, Williams was detained by law enforcement. He was charged with stealing coins and jewelry valued at $3,500. Moreover the next day, after posting a $40,000 bond, he was freed.

Because of the assault on the tractor driver on June 11, 2011, police arrest him. And later freed on a $50,000 bond the same evening.

After allegedly getting into a fight at a pub in South Lake Union on December 2, 2012, Williams was detained in Seattle. A bench warrant from an incident on November 25, 2012, in Sacramento. Where he reportedly rode a three-wheeled motorcycle on a sidewalk and refused to stop for police, which led to his arrest five days later in Dunnigan, California.

Child Endangerment and Violence

Williams was taken into custody on child endangerment-related allegations on December 28, 2012, in Los Angeles, and he was detained in lieu of a $100,000 bail.

Williams was detained on February 29, 2016, in Gainesville, Georgia, when a swimming pool store employee said Williams had assaulted him. On March 23, 2016, a video of Williams fighting with a 17-year-old boy after an argument after a soccer match in Gainesville went viral.
