Keenan Alexander Allen is a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League. He attended California to play college football before leaving after his junior year.

Keenan Allen’s parents, Keith Allen (father) and Dorie Maynard-Lang gave birth to him on April 27, 1992. (mother).
Keenan has always loved sports; he even participated in football, basketball, and track in high school.
Even though he took part in the majority of the sports activities, only football and track and field allowed him to stand out in front of everyone.
Keenan qualified for the state meet in the long jump during track and field with the best jump of 7.01 meters.
Following graduation from high school, Keenan enrolled at the University of Alabama before switching to the University of California to play wide receiver alongside his brother.

College Career
As was already mentioned, Allen’s career as a football player began in college. At the University of California, he spent two seasons playing for the California Golden Bears.
Allen made 46 receptions in 2010, his first season, for five touchdowns. Allen also had the best year of his career in 2011 with 98 catches for 1343 yards.
After his junior season, he left California with 205 passes for 2050 yards, one of the third-highest passes in school football history.

NFL Career
On May 9, 2013, Allen agreed to a four-year, $2.81 million contract with the Chargers, but he did not see a lot of action. Allen was disappointed that he couldn’t play and almost quit football to pursue his academics.
Fortunately, he eventually began receiving more opportunities to play, and on October 6, 2013, he faced the Oakland Raiders and recorded his first 100-yard games as a receiver in the NFL.
Similarly, the following week, in a victory over the Indianapolis Colts, he had nine receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Injury & Comeback
Allen was injured in the 2014 season, which limited his ability to perform well. He finished that season with just 77 receptions.
But in 2015, Allen made a strong comeback, and in the first week of the new campaign, he surpassed Kelly Winslow’s franchise record.
Allen’s contract with the Chargers was extended in 2016, but he was unable to play that year.
Even though he was unable to stand until the first half of the game and was later diagnosed with an ACL tear, Allen gave it his best effort that season despite missing the entire campaign.
Keenan most recently left the game against the Raiders early in the 2022 season due to a hamstring injury.
Comeback
In the second week of the 2017 season, Keenan broke his personal best record. Allen returned even more vital, stronger, and stronger.
Allen played a significant role in the Chargers’ victory over the Dallas Cowboys in week twelve of that season.
In that same year, Keenan made NFL history by becoming the first player to record at least one touchdown in three straight games with at least 10 catches and 100 receiving yards.
As a result of his outstanding performance, he was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
For Allen, the 2018 and 2019 seasons were average. He performed admirably, but not as well as in 2017. The Chargers extended Allen’s contract with the organization in 2020.
