Kenny Vaccaro, also known as Kenneth Dwayne Vaccaro, plays American football for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. In the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, he signed with the New Orleans Saints, where his NFL career officially began.

Ken Vaccaro and Aleisa gave birth to Kenny Vaccaro. His mother raised him and his brothers by herself in their native Brownwood, Texas. He had to work hard to accomplish all of his success because he had modest beginnings.

In his rookie season, Kenny took part in all 13 games. Kenny took part in both safety and special teams.

During his second season, Vaccaro took part in each of the 12 games.

His best performance of the season came in a single game when he made nine tackles, one tackle for a loss, and two pass breaks.

He had 82 total tackles, 8 for loss, and 2.0 sacks during his junior season, which was a fantastic demonstration of his skills. There were 8 pass breakups compared to 2 interceptions.

During his senior year of college, Kenny was awarded the first name All-American Pro Football Weekly. He was also given the defensive captain and linebacker Alex Okafor.

Professional Life and Career

After college, Kenny participated in NFL Scouting Combines and successfully finished each positional exercise.

Unfortunately, a hip issue during one of those events stopped him from taking part in any drills.

Vaccaro visited multiple organizations, taking part in numerous private workouts, including the Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and New Orleans Saints.

Sports Illustrated,, NFL Analyst Mike Mayock, and other media regarded him as one of the top safety prospects.

The New Orleans Saints selected Kenny with the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Vaccaro was the first safety chosen from the University of Texas at Austin after Earl Thomas in 2010.

St. Louis Saints

Kenny was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was selected by the team in the first round of the 2013 safety draft.

He agreed to a four-year, around $10 million contract with a sizable $5.23 million signing bonus.


After battling Roman Harper for the position throughout the practice, Vaccaro made his NFL debut as the backup strong. Sean Payton, his coach, gave him the job.

Atlanta Falcons represented Vaccaro’s first NFL opponent as he made five solo tackles with one pass deflection.

Due to a teammate’s injury in the third week of the season, Kenny was forced to start at strong safety.

He broke a pass and made a total of seven tackles against the Arizona Cardinals. And against the Chicago Bears, he recorded his first career sack.

A knee-helmet contact in week 10 of his rookie season resulted in a concussion, and he was forced to sit out the rest of the week. A Carolina Panthers injury required him to have ankle surgery as well.

In 14 games and 14 stars, he finished his first season with 79 combined tackles, 62 solos, 8 pass deflections, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception.

Pro Football Focus gave him an overall grade of 82.6 and ranked him 13th among all eligible safeties in 2013.

2014 – 2015

Kenny Vaccaro entered the training camp to replace Roman Harper at strong safety after the latter left for the California Panthers. Nevertheless, the defensive coordinator chose him to be the starting strong safety.

He participated in his debut game with the Detroit Lions in 2014. He had two tackles overall, a pass deflection, and an interception in the 24-23 loss.

Kenny recorded a season-high 10 tackles overall against the Green Bay Packers.

At the end of the season due to injuries, he had a combined total of 71 combined tackles, 5 deflections, 2 interceptions, and a sack in 15 games and 14 starts.

For the 2015 season, he was the team’s starting safety.

In 2015, Vaccaro played a key role in each of the season’s 16 games without suffering any serious injuries.

He recorded 104 total tackles, five pass deflections, three sacks, and a forced fumble, all career highs. Pro Football Focus ranked Vaccaro 21st among all qualified safeties in 2015.

2016 – 2017

Kenny’s deal was extended by the Saints for the 2017 campaign, and he received $5.76 million.

He missed the first half of the season, though, because of an ankle injury he picked up while playing with the Atlanta Falcons.

In 2016, Kenny was given a four-game suspension for using Adderall in violation of the league’s rules on performance-enhancing substances, but he intended to appeal.

In 11 games and 11 starts, he concluded the season with a dwindling total of 68 tackles, 5 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, an interception, and a sack. Vaccaro had a final score of 79.9. His qualifying position was 38.

Along with Vonn Bell, he began the 2017 campaign as the starting strong safety. Following a groin injury, Kenny was forced to miss two games.

He was put on injured reserve because of his wrist and groin injuries despite having played in a few games, including a victory over the New York Jets. He had to get surgery on his wrist.

In 14 games and 14 starts, Kenny recorded 60 combined tackles, seven pass deflections, 3.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown.

Titans of Tennessee

Kenny Vaccaro and the Tennessee Titans agreed to a $1.5 million, one-year contract on August 4, 2018. When Titans strong safety Jonathan Cyprien tore his ACL, he took over at strong safety.

Until now, 2018

Against the Miami Dolphins, he started the season for the Tennessee Titans. A few weeks later, after giving a strong performance just before it, he sustained an injury.

Due to an elbow dislocation, Vaccaro missed a few weeks of competition.

Kenny had a below-average performance in the 2018 season’s finale. 58 total tackles, two sacks, four pass deflections, and one interception were recorded by him.

Following the completion of a four-year, $26 million contract agreement with the Titans, an extra $11.5 million was guaranteed.

Vaccaro sacked Nick Foles in the fourth quarter of the same year in 2019, marking his first season-long sack.

In the 2020 season, Kenny led his club with 11 tackles and recorded the first sack of the year in a 33-30 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
