Ripple NYFW creator says Kim Kardashian’s Marilyn dress should’ve been in a museum. She doesn’t support the idea of renting historic garments!!
NYFW creator further hopes that Kardashian doesn’t start a trend of other celebrities also renting iconic garments. Following claims that Kim Kardashian damaged an iconic Marilyn Monroe dress by wearing it on the Met Gala red carpet, New York Fashion Week maker Fern Mallis lets us know the historic piece of clothing should have been in a historical center in any case.
“The problem with the Marilyn/Kim episode is that the dress was at Ripley’s Believe It or Not,” Mallis exclusively told the media at a celebration for fashion brand Alice & Olivia. “The dress deserved to be at a museum where nobody could wear it and touch it. It really is an iconic piece of art and American history.”
Well, from the perspective of preserving history, we think that no one should be allowed to misuse it.
