TABC Class 4A Player of the Year and second-team Parade All-American honors were bestowed upon Aldridge while he was a student at Seagoville High School.

NBA
The Portland Trail Blazers chose LaMarcus Aldridge over the Chicago Bulls as the second overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft.
In 2007, Aldridge’s plantar fasciitis prevented him from playing for a week. He had returned despite having problems with his feet.
Despite a challenging 2008–2009 season, he started scoring after 15 rounds of pressure and steadily developed his attacking game.
Portland and Aldridge agreed to a $65 million pact in 2009. He won NBA Player of the Week honors in January and February.

Spurs San Antonio (2015–2021)
Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs agreed to a four-year, $80 million contract on July 9, 2015.
Even though Bruce Bowen had already retired when Aldridge joined the Spurs, Aldridge was given the number 12 jersey.
In their season opener against the Golden State Warriors on October 25, 2016, the Spurs prevailed 129–100. Aldridge finished with a total of 14 rebounds and 26 points.
Then, on December 25, he played in his greatest game against the Chicago Bulls. Aldridge’s 33 points, his second-highest total as a Spur, helped the team defeat the Bulls 119-110.

On October 16, 2017, Aldridge and the Spurs came to terms on a three-year, $72.3 million deal, with the third year’s guarantee amounting to just $7 million.

Aldridge announced his retirement on April 15 and gave the reason that he had an irregular heartbeat as a health problem. After five months of retirement, he did, however, come back.

After passing all necessary physical tests, Aldridge returned to the Nets on September 3, 2021. In a contest against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 22, he recorded a career-high 23 points.
On October 29, he defeated the Indiana Pacers and scored 21 points to achieve 20,000 career points.
