Early Life & Family
On January 18, 1995, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Leonard Fournette was born to his parents Lory Fournette and Leonard Jr. Fournette
It was a violent and gang-infested neighborhood, especially in the years following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Leonard Fournette, Leonard’s younger brother, and sisters LaNata and LaTae Fournette made up Leonard’s family while he was growing up.

At the L’Auberge Casino in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lanard, 20, is accused of using another person’s identification to gamble.
According to reports, Leonard’s brother left the casino after being interrogated by security.
He was later charged with gambling with a fake ID and lodged in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, though.
High School
Fournette excelled in football while attending St. Augustine High School.
The player became the first freshman to receive a scholarship offer from Louisiana State after rushing for more than 2,500 yards and 30 touchdowns in his rookie season.
Similar to this, Leonard finished his second season with 1,900 yards and 27 touchdowns on the ground.
His 2,135 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns earned him a spot on the LFCA Class 4A First-Team All-State team as a junior.
One of the most highly recruited athletes to come out of Louisiana, Leonard was widely regarded as the best running back prospect in his class.
College Career
After excelling at St. Augustine High School, Fournette had almost unheard-of anticipation going into college in 2014.
He was named the 2013 USA Today High School Football Offensive Player of the Year, and 247Sports.com, ESPN, and CBS Sports ranked him as the top recruit in the 2014 senior class.
After his sophomore year at LSU in 2015, he was chosen as an All-America player by the majority of voters.
The player’s 1,953 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns set a school single-season record.
Professional Career
Fourth overall in 2017, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Leonard Fournette. He scored a rushing touchdown of at least 90 yards, making him the NFL’s youngest player.
In each of the first six games of his career, he became the first player to score a touchdown from scrimmage.
In 2017, he committed to the Jaguars for a four-year, $27 million deal that included an $18 million signing bonus.
On September 6, 2020, Leonard also agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On March 20, 2022, the running back signed a three-year, $21 million contract to extend his time with the team.

Injuries & Setbacks
Prior to the 2016 season, Fournette sprained his high ankle during a practice game. But he was able to play in the Lambeau Field season opener against Wisconsin after recovering in time.
Late in the Wisconsin game, the player suffered a bruised ankle. As a result, he was unable to play against Jacksonville State the following week.
On September 24, while rushing for 101 yards against SEC West rival Auburn, he sustained a new injury, forcing him to miss the following two contests.
Leonard also sustained another injury in 2021. On December 23, 2021, he was placed on injured reserve after sustaining a hamstring injury in Week 15.

Controversies
While Fournette was a member of the Jaguars, he was seen on camera yelling at a spectator during a loss to the Titans.
Likewise, he received an indefinite suspension for leaving the field to confront defensive lineman Shaq Lawson of the Buffalo Bills.
The guaranteed money in Fournette’s contract was then revoked, the Jaguars informed him.
Arrest
In April 2019, Fournette was detained at a car wash for speeding, driving with a suspended license, and having the wrong window tint on the side and rearview mirrors.
Due to unpaid speeding tickets, his license was suspended in November. Leonard was only in the Duval County Jail for a short period of time, but it had a profound impact on him.
