Following his graduation from high school, he received recruitment offers from colleges such as Georgetown University, the University of Georgia, the University of Notre Dame, and others. Graza, on the other hand, chose to play for the University of Iowa.

In his first year as a Hawkeye, he was named Big Ten freshman of the week. He also had his first double-double as a collegiate athlete.

After his rookie season, the basketball player underwent surgery to remove a nine-pound cyst from his spleen. After that, as a sophomore, he sprained his ankle.

Graza was also named All-Big Ten honorable mention by the media. After defeating the Minnesota Golden Gophers, he was named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week.

The player was a likely candidate for several awards in 2020, including the Wooden Award, Naismith Trophy, and Oscar Robertson Trophy.
