From 2002 through 2018, Mario Impemba served as Fox Sports Detroit’s announcer. Furthermore, Mario’s life was perfect up until 2018, when he got into a fight with his longtime partner, Rod Allen.

About Mario Impemba | Family and Education
On March 18, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, Mario Impemba was born to his parents, Dominic Impemba and Rose Impemba. He also shared his childhood with Ralph Impemba, his sibling.

Mario began his career as a professional baseball analyst in 1987 with the Peoria Chiefs, a single-A baseball team.
He had, however, worked as an announcer for Michigan State University’s sporting events for many years.
Following his original position, Impemba worked as the Peoria Rivermen’s play-by-play announcer and WXCL Radio’s sports director during the 1987–88 season.

He then worked for several minor league teams until settling down as the fill-in play-by-play voice of the Anaheim Angels on television from (1995-2001).
Thus, Fox Sports Detriot hired Impemba in 2002 after six excellent years as a part-time commentator.
Mario and Rod Allen then collaborated in the commentator’s booth. Similarly, the relationship lasted 17 years before coming to an unhappy conclusion.
What happened to Mario Impemba and Rod Allen?
Longtime partners Allen and Impemba were reportedly embroiled in a fight on September 4, 2018, according to sources.
The incident also happened right after the Tigers’ game against the Chicago White Sox was telecast.
Furthermore, the argument between the two people became so hot that they had to be put on separate aircraft.

Even though the reason for the argument has not been made public, one source stated it was about a chair.
The worst, sadly, was yet to come for the two. To clarify, on September 7 Fox Sports reported that both guys have been barred from commentating on any Tigers games for the balance of the current campaign.
Additionally, Rod and Mario’s 17-year cooperation was ended when Fox Sports opted not to renew their contracts.

Impemba had always been among the best for the calls and had been crushing it. In 2010, he made one of his better calls when he flawlessly covered Armando Galarraga’s flawed performance.
It wasn’t a pleasant ride when Jim Joyce ruled Armando’s pitch safe at first base. The supporters were irate, but Impemba provided the ideal response in the comments.
Similarly, one of his standard home run yells during games is “to the track, to the wall, gone!”

Impemba is not listed as employed as of the time of writing. Additionally, his most recent position was with the WEEI Boston Red Sox Radio Network.
Mario, however, only worked there for eight months before quitting in January 2020.
