Andreas Matt, a retired freestyle skier with a focus on the skicross discipline, was born on October 19, 1982. He played on the pitch until 2016 after making his World Cup debut in 2004.

He represented SC Flirsch during his playing career. With them, he won a gold and a bronze at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships.

Andreas also took home a silver medal from the Olympics.

Michael Matt, brother

Michael Matt, a Slalom-focused World Cup alpine ski racer, was born on May 13, 1993. Well, in 2013, at the age of 20, he made his World Cup debut.

Michael has participated in three World Championships and currently plays for the team SK Flirsch – Tirol.

Mario Matt | Professional Life and Career

According to the sources, Mario Matt began his training when he was just two years old.

He took part in several brief encounters on the field after that. Martin began competing in the FIS European Cup at the age of fourteen.

In December 1999, not long after that, Mario made his World Cup debut. At Kranjska Gora, he finished the competition in a very respectable 17th place.

Later, he won the first of 15 races in Kitzbuehel after starting in 50th place.

Mario won 15 World Cups in all, including one in super combined and 14 in slalom. In 2001, Mario claimed the slalom world title.

But when he first arrived in Kitzbühel in 2002, he slipped and hurt his shoulder there, so it turned out to be a dreadful spot for him. Sadly, he was unable to attend the Olympics because of this disaster.

Having recovered from his wounds, Mario went back onto the field. Three years later, at Lenzerheide, Switzerland, he finally won another World Cup.

Although he bounced back in 2007, his 2008–2009 season was disappointing.

He really came in third in Levi, but after that, he dropped out of his next four races, and in eight of his 16 races altogether he didn’t finish.

Additionally, after winning the gold, he later starred in the 2014 Olympic Games played in Sochi.

On March 12, 2015, Mario announced his decision to stop competing in ski races.

Mario Matt was the second-oldest person to win an Olympic gold medal for slalom skiing. Likewise, he set a World Cup record for the oldest competitor to win a slalom event.
