Mariska Magdolna Hargitay is the daughter of former Mr. Universe Mickey Hargitay, who is of Hungarian descent, and Jayne Mansfield. She has three half-brothers as well as two older brothers. Her parents divorced in 1963, although the divorce was later ruled invalid. Hargitay’s mother, Jayne Mansfield, and her lover, Sam Brody, were killed in a car accident four years later.
