Early Career

Prior to enrolling at Keller High School, Max Muncy played in the neighborhood clubs under the guidance of his father.

He began representing Keller High School and soon after began winning both individual and team awards.

Numerous teams and scouts were attracted to his high school performance. He was chosen by the Cleveland Indians in round 41 of the 2009 MLB Draft. Max decided to play college baseball in spite of the selection.

He joined Baylor University after turning down the Cleveland Indians. He soon began competing for the Baylor Bears in college baseball.

He set a Baylor freshman record with 53 RBI and 11 home runs in his first season.

After being chosen in the MLB, he left the Bears. During his three years at Baylor, Muncy batted.311 with 27 home runs in his career. There, he competed against many future MLB stars.

He was selected for the All-Big 12 Conference in two different seasons as a result of his outstanding performance.

In addition, he gained knowledge of collegiate summer baseball. After his senior year of college, Max signed on with Wareham Gateman of the Cape Cod Baseball League. For two years, he participated in the Cape Cod League.

Oakland Athletics

Muncy was chosen by the Oakland Athletics in the fifth round (169th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft. He entered into his first professional contract on June 16 with the Oakland Athletics.

He joined the Class-A Midwest League team Burlington Bees later in the month.

Max was assigned to the Stockton Ports of Beloit Snappers prior to the 2013 season’s start. He had the most home runs, runs scored (21), and RBI in the Californian League (76).

Muncy was moved up to the Double-A Texas League’s Midland RockHounds after an impressive start in the Californian League.

He had an annual batting average of.273/.381/.476. Additionally, he added 100 RBIs and 25 home runs to his total.

Muncy participated for Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League following the conclusion of the regular season. The RockHounds welcomed him back for the 2014 regular season.

He participated for the Midland RockHounds in the 2014 regular season. The Oakland Athletics invited the first baseman Max Muncy, who was not on the roster, to spring training camp on December 23.

The Triple-A Pacific Coast League’s Nashville Sounds were where Munce started the 2015 regular season.

But after just 15 days, he was promoted to the first team. He played his first MLB game on April 25, 2015, against the Houston Astros.

He hit his first Major League Baseball home run on May 17 against the Chicago White Sox. Max played 45 games in his rookie MLB season while hitting.206. Max did receive positive feedback on his performance from some analysts.

He played in five games during the 2019 postseason, batting.263 with three home runs and seven RBIs.

Max and the Dodgers came to an agreement to sign a three-year contract extension on February 6, 2020.

He agreed to a contract worth $26 million over three years with an additional $13 million option.

The 2020 Major League season was postponed due to the global Corona Virus pandemic. Muncy played in 58 games for the LA Dodgers after the season got off to a late start.
