Maxwell Martin Scherzer, also known as Scherzer, was born to Jan and Brad Scherzer on July 27, 1984, under the sign of Leo. He was born and raised in Chesterfield, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.

Max and his brother, Alex Scherzer, both developed a passion for sports as children. But his sole sibling committed suicide at the start of the 2012 summer.

She currently serves as an ambassador for Polaris, a group devoted to battling and eliminating human slavery.

Currently, Erica and Max are parents to three kids, two of whom are daughters and one of whom is a son. The couple welcomed a daughter named Brooke Scherzer as their first child on November 29, 2018.

On April 7, 2019, they welcomed a second daughter, Kacey Hart Scherzer. The couple recently gave birth to a son, Derek Alexander Scherzer, on May 2, 2021.

Max Scherzer | Career

Many people were interested in Scherzer because he demonstrated an early interest in the athletic side.

Max had already been chosen by the Cardinals’ scouting director for the 2003 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft before the start of his collegiate career.

Max trained with a number of well-known figures in the baseball industry early in his career, including Tony Vitello, Tim Jamieson, and many others.

He had won the 2005 Big 12 Pitcher of the Year Award during his collegiate career.

Max had played with several professionals from the start of his college career. He made his professional debut with the Northwoods League’s La Crosse Loggers at first (NWL).

Arizona Diamondbacks

Max made his professional debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks as the eleventh overall pick in the 2006 MLB Draft.

He had previously played for the Fort Worth Cats of the independent American Association before joining the Diamondbacks.

Max made his professional debut as a reliever in 2008, two years later. He did have an impressive debut because he came within one of breaking the MLB record for most relief appearances in a debut.

Soon after, Max suffered his first loss as a starter in his career, which was swiftly followed by his first career triumph.

Detroit Tigers

As part of a three-team deal, Max Scherzer joined the Detroit Tigers in 2009. His throwing ability also significantly improved. Max played for the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens by the following year, in 2010.

He pitched into the ninth inning for the first time in his career right alongside them. Max had a career that was relatively injury-free. He did, however, win his first Cy Young Award in 2013.

Max also attained 20 wins in the same year, becoming the first pitcher in the major league to do so in September.

Then he won Baseball Digest Pitcher of the Year as well as the Players Choice Award for Outstanding AL Pitcher. Max spent the entire time with the Tigers until 2014.

Washington Nationals

Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals agreed to a seven-year contract at the beginning of 2015. He won the 100th game of his career while making his team debut as the starting pitcher.

Max also presented non-consecutive title wins and awards back in October. He received his second CY Youth Award the following year, in 2016, and a further honor in 2017. In a regular-season game, Max was the first pitcher to strike out 20 batters.

He had more than 300 strikeouts by the year 2018, making him the best pitcher.

Max Scherzer participated in the World Series and won his first major championship after a number of noteworthy accomplishments. He also remained with the Nationals through 2021.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Max Scherzer was traded by the Nationals to the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he struck out 3,000 batters.

He won the Players Choice Award for NL Outstanding Pitcher and the Sporting News NL Starting Pitcher of the Year by the time he left the Dodgers.
