Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sent an invitation to the royal family for attending their daughter, Princess Lilibet Diana’s christening. But, the royal family members didn’t attend the function.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have always been frank speaking about royal family members. In their documentary “Harry & Meghan”, both of them have revealed many secrets about the royals. Last Friday, they organized their daughter, Princess Lilibet’s christening.

Even though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited the royal family members, no one attended. The members include King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton who didn’t attend the function.

Similarly, the reason why Harry’s family didn’t show their appearance remains unclear. But Meghan’s side of the family attended the christening function. Likewise, the insider stated there were about 20-30 guests altogether.

Meghan Markel’s mother, Doria Ragland, Princess Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry, and an unnamed godmother also showed their appearance. Princess Lilibet Diana’s 21-month christening was celebrated by her brother, Prince Archie as well. He danced with his little sister.

According to an insider of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,

“I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor.”

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles became King, and Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet were also given the title of prince and princess. When King Charles III was not titled king, Prince William, and Kate Middleton‘s children were given titles of prince and princess. The reason for this was they were the children of the eldest son. First, the rules were set by King George V in the year 1917 which says,

“…the grandchildren of the sons of any such sovereign in the direct male line (save only the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales) shall have and enjoy in all occasions the style and title enjoyed by the children of dukes of these our realms.”

Also, the spokesperson of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stated,

“The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the royal family and settled in California for a few years. They are well settled and away from the royal family duties along with their kids. Though they are away from their royal duties, Prince Harry stated in an interview that he wishes his children to have a meaningful relationship with the real family. Furthermore, he said,

“I’ve said before that I’ve wanted a family, not an institution—so of course, I would love nothing more than for our children to have relationships with members of my family, and they do with some, which brings me great joy.”

On the other hand, Prince Harry also talked about feeling left out by his family. He feels more distant from his family as he stated in an event. This comes after Harry and Meghan got evicted from their Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor, England. At the time, the sources close to the royals said there is private family matters and they said nothing about the matter. However, it is also said that Prince Harry’s memory caused a rift between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with the royals.

The upcoming Charles’ coronation will be held on May 6 as per the sources. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got the invitation but it’s on their son, Archie’s 4th birthday. So, the spokesperson for Meghan and Harry confirmed,

“I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation. An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

This may cause conflict between the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex again according to the fans. We will update you about this soon!
