Melanie Rauscher, The “Naked and Afraid” star, died at age 35 in Prescott, Arizona!! She was dog-sitting in the city!!
Quite heartbreaking!! Melanie Rauscher dies at the age of 35!! She was found dead in Prescott, Arizona on Sunday, July 17. Moreover, she was babysitting a dog in the city while the owners were away. However, the dog was doing good, nothing was harmed.
The homeowners arrived the same afternoon and she was lying there in the bed of their guest room. It must feel terrible to view that scenario. Every incident was given in detail by the representative of the police department of Prescott, Corey Kasun.
Furthermore, Corey said that she had all these cans of cleaner beside her. Well, it’s not confirmed if she consumed them but it was in the scene. The police when investigating found no clues of anything foul/ substance abuse. She did not leave anything like a suicide note and the dog was doing fine.
Rauscher appeared on the show “Naked and Afraid” as a contestant in season 7 which aired in 2017. She also appeared in the spin-off Naked and Afraid XL the following year. The show aired on the Discovery Channel.

The other contestant and castmate Jeremy McCaa of Rauscher from the show posted a tribute on Facebook praising how fantastic a friend she was. Both pairs had great chemistry on the show and it blossomed into a beautiful friendship. Jeremy also added that though she was not blood she was family and he could always count on her. In an interview, he was saying,
“We just clicked from the moment we met. She was like the sister I never had; our relationship became like siblings and we shared a special bond.
“She always put other people before herself. She was really well loved in the Naked and Afraid community. Everyone will miss her,”

Jeremy further said that she was a very strong woman and an amazing person. He will always cherish every moment spent with her. He added that she just went away too soon and very early.
“I could always count on her,” he continued. “We had so many moments when we would just be there for each other. She was my swamp wife, a best friend, a strong woman, and an amazing person and I’ll always cherish our moments together.”
“You’re gone too soon and taken from us too early. You’ll always be my Mel.”
While remembering Rauscher in the obituary, everyone recalls her as an “outdoor enthusiast”. She loved nature and loved all the creatures no matter whether it is big/small. She was a very adventurous person, she loved camping and hiking and she used to look out for doing some adventure every time. Also from the obituary,
“Mel was a passionate athlete and deeply involved in local adult leagues. She was a diehard Eagles fan. She was a natural comedian, and her wit was unmatched. Melanie’s boisterous laugh will echo in the hearts and minds of her loved ones forever,”
Rauscher was very passionate about the local adult leagues. She was very witty and a huge fan of the Eagles. She was born a comedian and her laugh is so engraved in all of our hearts her loved ones are going to miss her.
Rauscher has left behind her parents Daniel T. and Catherine A. Rauscher. She also has sisters Jeanette, Rebecca, and Alexis. From the team gossipy, we pray that god gives the family the strength to hold onto the situation and pay condolences to Melanie.
