The American alpine ski racer, Mikaela Shiffrin was born on March 13, 1995, in the ski town of Vail, Colorado. Her mother, Eileen Shiffrin, is a former ski racer and her father, Jeff Shiffrin, is an anesthesiologist. Mikaela has one older brother, Taylor, who is also a ski racer.

Shiffrin began skiing at the age of two and started racing at the age of five.
