In the seventh round of the 2009 MLB Draft, the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball picked Miles.
2010 saw him pitch as a reliever for the Class-A Minor League Baseball Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Midwest League, a San Diego Padres affiliate.
He led the Midwest League in saves in 2010 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps, going 6-3 with 13 saves and a 2.20 ERA (Earned Run Average) in a total of 60 games.

He began the 2014 season with the Round Rock Express, a Triple-A squad affiliated with the Houston Astros Major League Club.
On July 1st, 2014, Mikolas was later added to the Texas Rangers’ 25-man roster.
He pitched with Texas for the remainder of the season, recording 10 starts with records of 2-5 and a 6.44 ERA.
Against the Baltimore Orioles, Mikolas started his first game of the season and lasted 5 1/3 innings while allowing three hits and three runs.
Yomiuri Giants
After the 2014 season, the Texas Rangers released Miles. The Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball then offered him a $700,000 one-year contract for the 2015 season.
The Giants renewed Mikolas’ contract for two years as a result of his exceptional 2015 campaign.
He pitched for the Giants for three seasons, finishing with a 2.18 ERA and a 31-13 record in 62 starts.
St. Louis Cardinals
