Mindy Kaling doesn’t mind the rumors of B.J Novak being her children’s father-He is godparent to both of her children!!
The “Never have I ever” creator, Mindy Kaling finally speaks about rumors surrounding that B.J Novak is her kid’s father. She is the mother of 2 children, a 4-year-old daughter Katherine and a 1-year-old son Spencer. She doesn’t mind people making rumors about her children and partner Novak.
People are assuming him to be the father because she has been private with her life and never introduced the father of the kids. All these years people assumed that 43-year-old Novak is the father. The former couple met on the sets of “The Office” in 2004 and they dated from the show itself. They also split in 2007 but then they are still close as friends.
In the recent interview published on Tuesday, Mindy said, “It doesn’t bother me” about the rumors rumbling around paternity. She stated that he is the godparent to her kids and they have a very special bond with each other. These sorts of rumors have not affected my happiness and my family so it doesn’t matter.
“He’s the godparent to both my kids — and they have such a great relationship — and so far (the rumors haven’t) affected my happiness at all, it hasn’t affected my kids or B.J.”
“If that’s what is going to be titillating to people, I’ll take it,” she added.
In 2019 also Kaling revealed that Novak is her daughter’s godparent. Novak is much more than a family member and he frequently visits to hang out with her daughter.
“B.J. is so much more like family now than a platonic friend,” she mentioned. “He’s the godfather to my daughter, he comes over like once a week. Sometimes he’ll come over just to hang out with her.”
In 2020, she secretly welcomed her baby boy as well and Novak is again the godfather to Spencer as well. She opened up about how much Novak loves her children and he cares for them seriously in an interview with a magazine with Hoda and Jenna.

Moreover, Novak is very attached to her children. She just talked about a situation where she is no more and told him that he needs to take care of him and he replied with the cutest answer “Don’t tempt me!!”
“You know, he said the funniest thing because he’s so attached to my older child, my daughter,” Kaling said.
“When I said, you know, ‘B.J., if something happens to me, it’s not like I have a husband like you have to just take the kids.’ And he’s like ‘Oh, my God, don’t tempt me.’”
Mindy said that he is so funny that he asked her if he can sue for the children’s rights.
‘Can you sue for god-paternity rights?’” she added. “… He just loves her so much.”
Kaling and Novak both are in platonic love, Novak is constantly supporting her with her children and he loves them so much. Both are equally there for each other. Love is platonic but when they are in public appearance they also go on a date.
In 2022, Vanity Fair Oscars party, both of them appeared as dates. Both are frequently seen for each other in their functions. Hope to see Mindy and Novak together always happy and supporting each other!!
