High School Career

Prior to his junior year, he participated in the summer league for Chalmette High School.

In the 2017 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game, Mitchell finished with 14 points, three rebounds, and two blocks. Similarly, he played in the 2017 Jordan Brand Classic and finished with 15 points and three rebounds in 17 minutes.

After initially committing to Texas A&M, the basketball player changed his mind and joined coach Rick Stansbury at Western Kentucky. As an assistant coach for the Aggies, Stansbury had hired Mitchell.

Mitchell Robinson| College Career

Prior to the team’s planned travel to Costa Rica, Mitchell practiced with the team for roughly two weeks while attending Western Kentucky University for the summer semester in July 2017.

Sources claim that he had left college and that his room had been cleaned. As a result of disobeying team regulations, he was later suspended indefinitely.

He was granted a transfer release after speaking with the head coach, Rick Stansbury, and would have been forced to sit out the 2017–18 campaign unless the NCAA rendered an unexpected ruling.

For an NCAA waiver in August 2017, Mitchell paid visits to Louisiana State University, the University of Kansas, and the University of New Orleans.

The athlete announced on September 18 that he would bypass college and go straight into the 2018 NBA Draft.

At the 2018 NBA Draft on June 21, the New York Knicks selected Mitchell with the 36th overall pick.

After taking part in the 2018 NBA Summer League, on July 8, 2018, he agreed to a multi-year rookie scale contract with the Knicks.

He also set records for offensive rebounds and blocked shots in the summer league.

Robinson, who had been sidelined by an ankle injury during the preseason, made his professional debut on October 17 against the Atlanta Hawks, scoring two points in a 127-106 victory.

The Golden State Warriors were defeated 128-100 on October 26. Mitchell made his debut during that game, with six points and six rebounds in 29 minutes of play.

In a 143-120 triumph over the Hawks on December 17, 2019, Mitchell notched a career-high 22 points and 13 rebounds.

He defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 117-93 on January 1, 2020, with 22 points on 11-of-11 shooting from the field.
