When discussing a successful captain in the cricketing world, one name immediately comes to mind: Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

MSD has undoubtedly won everything that any captain desires. In 2011, MSD broke India’s 28-year World Cup drought by guiding the team to victory in India.

MS Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi, Jharkhand, to parents Pan Singh and Devaki Devi.

Professional Career

Final Years

Dhoni resigned as India’s limited-overs captain in January 2017, before the home ODI series against England.

Also, Dhoni was the first wicketkeeper in history to register 100 stumpings in August. Following that year, in 2018, Dhoni hit another milestone: 400 dismissals.

Similarly, in the second ODI against England, Dhoni became the eleventh batter to surpass 10,000 ODI runs.
