American retired basketball player Nathaniel Cornelius Robinson played professionally. Robinson, who was selected with pick 21 in the 2005 NBA Draft,  and played collegiate basketball for the University of Washington in Seattle.

Early Life, Family, Education

On May 31, 1984, Nathaniel Cornelius Robinson, also known as Nate Robinson, was born in Seattle, Washington. Renee Busch and Jacque Robinson are his parents (mother).

Since his father played American football professionally, athleticism runs in his family. Furthermore, his father has worked with renowned organizations including the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and Washington Huskies.

Deron Isaiah Robinson, Jasmine Stewart, and Anthony Stewart, Robinson’s three siblings, were all there during his upbringing.

He played football with his father, who was also his coach, all through his childhood. However, Nate’s parents always supported him in all he did and never discouraged him from pursuing a career in basketball.

NBA Career

When the Phoenix Suns selected Nate with the 21st overall choice in the NBA Draft in 2005, his greatest dream came true.

Soon after, the Suns dealt Kurt Thoams to the New York Knicks for Nate shortly after.

He also spent five years with the Knicks as a player, from 2005 to 2010, appearing in 72 games in his first season.

Additionally, he had his greatest game against the Philadelphia 76ers, winning six rounds and averaging 17 points each game.

Similar to Spud Webb in 1986, Nate won his first Slam Dunk Contest in 2006 and broke his previous mark.

Robinson finished second in the Slam Dunk in 2007, while Gerald Green took first.

One of Nate’s best seasons was 2007–08 one, during which he averaged a remarkable 12.7 points per game.

Later, on February 18, Robinson was dealt to the Boston Celtics, where he played in 26 games.

Nate was exchanged by Celtis for Jeff Green and Nenad Kristic by Oklahoma City Thunder on February 24, 2011. However, he did not perform as anticipated, and after a year, the team released him.

Robinson married Sheena Felitz in his final year of high school after falling in love with her. However, they took their time and dated for a long time before getting married.

They were able to give their love story a name despite having an unpredictable relationship while they were still dating.
