Nicolas Cage, born Nicolas Kim Coppola, is an American film producer and actor. He is a Coppola family member who has won multiple prizes, including an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award.

Nicolas Kim Coppola was born on the 7th of January, 1964. Cage was born in Long Beach, California, to August Coppola, a literature professor, and Joy Vogelsang, a dancer, and choreographer. His family was a Catholic family.

His father was Italian, and his mother came from a German and Polish family. He attended Beverly Hills High School, which has a strong history of producing actors and actresses.

He had a dream of becoming an actor since he was a child and attended UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television. His first experience with non-cinematic acting was in a school production of Golden Boy.

Firstly, Cage made his acting debut in The Best of Times, a failed ABC television pilot. In 1982, he made his film debut as an unidentified coworker of Judge Reinhold’s character in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Despite its modest box office performance, the picture became a cult favorite. In 1984, Cage appeared in three-period pieces, none of which did well at the box office.

Cage co-starred in the 1984 drama Racing with the Moon with Sean Penn as mates awaiting deployment to the United States Marine Corps.

The Boy in Blue and Wild at Heart

Later in 1986, Cage participated in the underrated Canadian sports drama The Boy in Blue, and in 1987, he appeared in his uncle’s fantasy comedy Peggy Sue Got Married. In 1989, Cage starred in the black comedy Vampire’s Kiss as a man who falls in love with a vampire and soon believes he is a vampire himself.

After filming the Italian thriller Time to Kill (1989) in Zimbabwe, he played in David Lynch’s romantic crime film Wild at Heart (1990) with Laura Dern as a pair of lovers on the run from goons instructed to kill Cage’s character “Sailor” Ripley. He also played a helicopter pilot in the 1990 action film Fire Birds.

Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider (2007), based on the Marvel Comics character, performed better, with more than $45 million (the highest opening weekend gross) and more than $208 million worldwide through March 25, 2007.

Backstage at a Ring of an Honor wrestling match in New York City in November 2007, Cage was scouting for the lead part in The Wrestler. Cage also starred in the 2008 film Bangkok Dangerous as Joe, a contract killer who had a change of heart while on a work trip in Bangkok.

Cage also appears in Werner Herzog’s Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, which was released in 2009. He portrayed an unethical cop who was addicted to gambling, drugs, and alcohol. In 2011, Cage reprised his role as Ghost Rider in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
