Orlando Brown is an offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). For Peachtree Ridge High School, he first participated in athletics.

In the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Brown, who had previously attended Oklahoma University. Kansas City tagged Brown with a non-exclusive franchise on March 7, 2022.

Orlando Claude Brown Sr., the father of Orlando Brown, played offensive linemen for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.

Brown’s father received his high school diploma from Howard D. Woodson. He played football for Willie Jeffries at South Carolina State University while there.

Brown joined the Cleveland Browns in 1993 as an undrafted free agent. He was a member of the Browns for three seasons.

On September 23, 2011, the father of the footballer was discovered to have passed away in his Baltimore apartment.

According to the state medical examiner, Orlando Brown Sr. passed away from diabetic ketoacidosis, a syndrome brought on by low insulin levels and high blood sugar.

Brown Jr. attended Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia, where he participated in football. He received a three-star prospect rating.

Scholarships were offered to him by several universities, including Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn.

Before switching to Oklahoma, the player had committed to Tennessee initially.

Orlando redshirted at Oklahoma in 2014 for his first year. In 2015, he has named the starting left tackle as well.

He decided to forgo his senior year and declare for the 2018 NFL Draft on January 3, 2018.

Professional Life and Career

On January 3, 2018, Orlando decided to forgo his remaining eligibility and join the 2018 NFL Draft.

He participated in all of the positional drills at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, but he struggled.

He ran the slowest 40-yard dash time of any prospect at the combine, according to NFL analyst Mike Mayock, who called it a “historically terrible time.”

In the bench press, vertical leap, and broad jump tests at the combine, he placed last among all offensive linemen.

After being highly regarded by draft analysts and scouts as a first-round pick, Brown’s performance may have hurt his draft value.

Orlando was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft (83rd overall).

Analysts saw the player—the ninth offensive tackle selected in the 2018 draft—as one of the biggest bargains.

On May 16, 2018, Orlando agreed to a four-year, $3.49 million deal with the Ravens, which also includes an $865,720 signing bonus.

As a rookie right tackle, he took part in all 16 games and started ten of them. He also participated in the Los Angeles Chargers Wild Card defeat.

Orlando received a second Pro Bowl selection in 2020.

On April 23, 2021, the player was acquired by the Kansas City Chiefs in a trade. The player was given a non-exclusive franchise tag by the Chiefs on March 7, 2022.

The risk of developing type 1 diabetes is 15 times higher in relatives. Orlando’s younger brother was similarly identified as having type 1 diabetes in the fifth grade.

Also passing away at the age of 40 from diabetic ketoacidosis was their father, NFL player Orlando Brown Sr (DKA). Before his death, he had not received a diabetes diagnosis.

Orlando, who is now a parent, wants to increase public awareness of type 1 diabetes screening and research into its prevention.

He has joined the more than 225,000 relatives of type 1 diabetics who have taken part in TrialNet screening and studies over the past 20 years.
