On July 12, 2012, he agreed to terms with the Pacers on a multi-year contract.

He signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans on March 9, 2016, to assist the team in dealing with a series of ailments.

Return to the NBA

On February 5, 2016, Johnson agreed to a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns. He made his Suns debut the next day, scoring seven points, getting one rebound, and swiping one in 19 minutes against the Utah Jazz.

In a loss against the Golden State Warriors on February 10, he had 9 points, a career-high 8 rebounds, and a career-high 3 blocks.

The Suns did not renew his contract on February 15, leaving him a free agent.

Johnson returned to the Austin Spurs five days later, scoring 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals in 43 minutes of a 96-94 victory over the Oklahoma City Blue.

Johnson joined the Guangxi Rhino of the Chinese National Basketball League in July 2016.
