Early Life, Education

Nigerian parents gave birth to Umenyiora in London’s Golders Green. Osi, an Igbo native of Ogbunike town in Nigeria’s Anambra State Local Government Area of Oyi, is descended from the Igbo people.

His full name is Igbo for “from today; everything will be fine.” When Umenyiora was seven years old, his family moved from London to Nigeria.

At the age of 14, Umenyiora relocated to Auburn, Alabama, to live with his sister and pursue a better education.
