Pat Tillman Jr was born on November 1979- April 22, 2004, to his parents Mary Tillman and Patrick Daniel Tillman Sr.
Patrick was an American professional Football player in the NFL. He ended his professional football career and enrolled in US Army in 2002.
He left us in April 2004 during the war in Afghanistan because of friendly fire.

Pat Tillman was the oldest child of his parents Pat Tillman Sr. and Mary Tillman. He was born and raised in San Jose, California. Pat always cared and protected his brothers.

Pat’s NFL Career:
In the 1998 National Football League (NFL) draft Arizona Cardinals signed Pat. Moreover, he started playing as a starting player. Two years later, he set a new team record with the highest number of tackles in 2000.
Tim was very loyal to his team. In 2001 he turned down a lucrative contract with the St. Louis Rams to continue his journey with the Cardinals.

After the 9/11 terrorist attacks on United States Tillman decided to join the US army. Pat’s inspiration was his great-grandfather Pearl Harbor.
In May 2002, Tillman refused a $3.6 million, three-year contract with the Cardinals, for his post in the US army.
“Sports embodied many of the qualities I deem meaningful. However, these last few years, and especially after recent events, I’ve come to appreciate just how shallow and insignificant my role is . . . It’s no longer important.”
Pat joined US Army along with his brother Kevin in July 2002. His decision to leave the sport to join the military was a hot topic in the media. Indeed, It was an unbelievable step. Tim left his sports career when he was at his peak.
Pat and Kevin were assigned to Fort Lewis, Washington for the second battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Lewis, Washington. They served in Iraq and Afghanistan during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
Tillman’s mysterious Death:
Pat died on April 22, 2002. He was killed in action while in a canyon in Afghanistan. At first, they announced that Tillman was shot by enemy forces during the ambush.
However, an investigation done by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) concluded that:
Tillman and the Afghan militia soldier died in friendly fire. In confusion one allied group fired upon another mistakenly believed to be from enemy combatants.
Tillman received honored in a nationally televised memorial service on May 3, 2004.

Tim’s Controversies and Investigation:
Reports and Documents that surfaced years proved that his mates and stakeholders here were aware that Tillman had died from the friendly fire within 24 hours of his death.
After Tillman’s death, the investigation proved that Army commanders and members of the Bush administration concealed the truth behind the soldier’s shooting by destroying items of his clothing, his notebooks, and even hiding parts of Tillman’s body to cover up evidence.

“This isn’t about Pat, this is about what they did to Pat and what they did to a nation,” said Tillman’s mother, Mary. “By making up these false stories you’re diminishing their true heroism. In addition, to Purple Heart and Silver Star by the military, Tillman also has his ASU Sun Devils and Arizona Cardinals jersey numbers retired.
Moreover, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in May 2010.
The NFL-Tillman Scholarship was established in June of the same year by the NFL and the Pat Tillman Foundation to recognize someone who “exemplifies Pat Tillman’s lifelong legacy of service.” The Tillman Story, a documentary chronicling Tillman’s life, was released on August 20, 2010.
