Just after three months, at UFC 67, Cote won his first UFC fight by unanimous decision over TUF4 teammate Scott Smith.

At UFC Fight Night, he faced Drew McFedries, where he won by TKO in the first round after catching McFedries with a counter strike.

In addition, Silva won the first two rounds, but Cote showed his mettle by surviving a roundhouse kick and a flying knee right on the button in the first round.

Similarly, in the third round, Cote’s movement within the octagon put too much pressure on the rear of his right leg, prompting him to collapse to the mat gripping his right knee in anguish.

On 8th April 2017, Cote announced retirement after his loss to Alves at UFC 210.
