Patrick Andrew McCaw is an American professional basketball player for the NBA G League’s Delaware Blue Coats.

As a college freshman in 2016, he earned second-team all-conference honors in the Mountain West Conference while playing for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels.

 Early Life, Family & Education

To start with the basics, Jeffery McCaw Sr. and Teresa McCaw welcomed Patrick McCaw into the world in St. Louis, Missouri on October 25, 1995.

Patrick was born into a Catholic family and attended Christian Brothers College High School during his early years of education. Later, he was moved to Montrose Christian Academy.

Teresa and Jeffrey McCaw’s wedding took place in Las Vegas, and it appears that both of them were Runnin’ Rebel fans.

High School Career

Patrick received his early education at Christian Brother College High School. He later graduated from Montrose Christian High School in 2014 and was given his diploma.

Additionally, as a senior, he averaged 13 points per game and finally had the chance to captain his team to the Division I championship of the National Christian School Athletic Association.

He was ranked as the No. 38 shooting guard by ESPN. Brian Bartley instructed him throughout his freshman year of college.

Patrick was only beginning to establish himself as a capable player when he received all-conference recognition as a junior and was named Metro Catholic Newcomer of the Year.

College Career

Patrick started his college career at UNLV, where he enjoyed three years of basketball.

Similar to this, he averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and 31.7 minutes per game over the course of his two seasons.

McCaw averaged 14.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.45 steals in 33.7 minutes as a sophomore. In terms of steals, he came in second.

Patrick switched his jersey number from 2 to 22 during the offseason because his father wore the same number of jerseys during his college career.

He led his team in scoring with three goals and two rebounds.

Because of his development over the course of the three seasons, he was also selected for the MWC all-defensive team and received second-team all-conference recognition.

Professional Career

His first-ever start of success in his career came when he was hired by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 38th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft on June 23, 2016.

On the final night of his draft season, he was traded to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for cash.

In addition, he joined the Warriors on July 16, 2016, hoping to win his team in the 2016 NBA summer.

On October 25, 2016, he made his Warriors debut against the San Antonio Spurs.

In contrast, McCaw made an impact in the 129-100 loss with two points, two assists, one steal, and one block in nine minutes of bench time.

Patrick joined Santa Cruz on that particular day, but Golden State later called him back.

He played against the Miami Heat in his first career start, taking Klay Thompson‘s place, and made one three-pointer in a 107-95 victory.

Patrick joined the team as a replacement after re-signing with Santa Cruz.

For the fourth time, he faced the Spurs, and he prevailed 129-115 with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a plus-12 rating.

Second Championship

On November 27, 2017, Patrick, who was filling in for Stephen Curry, had a season-high 16 points, a career-high 7 assists, and four steals in a 110-106 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Late in the third quarter of the Warriors’ 112-96 victory over the Kings, McCaw was forced to leave the game after a risky landing after Vince Carter’s undercut.

McCaw was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center for a checkup after suffering a lower-body injury from a play hit. He was released the following day with a bruised lumbar spine.

Following his recovery, he participated in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets.
