Phillip Lindsay was born to Troy Lindsay, a proud father, and Diane Lindsay, a proud mother. He is one of five Lindsay children to obtain a full university athletic scholarship.

Professional Life and Career
Senior year in high school
Lindsay, like his father Troy, was an avid runner in high school.
Phillip was picked to wear the same jersey digit as his father, 22, at South High School.
He set the Denver Public School District record for rushing yards (4,400) while playing for the Rebels, which his father set in 1979.
Lindsay committed himself to playing for the University of Colorado Boulder after a successful first three years of high school.

Lindsay suffered a catastrophic ACL tear shortly after breaking his father’s rushing record in his senior season, ending his high school career.
Despite the injury, Colorado’s trainer, Mike MacIntyre, kept the school’s grant for the 2013 season.
Lindsay, in addition to football, honed her basketball talents as a freshman and competed in track and field for four years.
He competed in sprints and relays, setting personal bests in the 100-meter dash (10.9 seconds), the 200-meter dash (22.2 seconds), and the 400-meter dash (49.0 seconds).
Career in College
Throughout the fall of 2013, Troy’s son bonded with the Colorado team.
In the 2013 season, he decided to redshirt. He worked on the practice team for a while and eventually received the title of “Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year.”
Season 2014
Lindsay was dubbed the “Tasmanian Devil” by Trainer MacIntyre when the 2014 season began because of his speed and willpower on the field.
Phillip played in all 12 of the school’s sports as a backup running back and kick returner throughout the season.
He led the team in kick returns in return yards, while he finished fourth in rushing yards overall.
In his 79 carries this season, Lindsay averaged roughly 4.9 yards per rush.

Season 2015
Lindsay experienced success in all of the Buffaloes’ games this season, compared to the previous year.
He led the team in rushing attempts (140) and yards (643), averaging 4.7 yards per carrying.
Lindsay scored seven touchdowns this season, including six rushings and one receiving.
Lindsay was chosen as a team captain by his teammates and trainers even though he was only a sophomore.
Season 2016
During the 2016 season, he rushed for 1,252 yards on 244 attempts, averaging 5.1 yards per carrying.
Season 2017
In 2017, he rushed for a career-high 281 yards against Arizona during his senior season.
With 1,474 rushing yards during the 2017 regular season, he was seventh among all Division I FBS players.
Lindsay finished Division I competition with the most rushing attempts (301) in 2017.
He was named a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award, which is given to the state’s best running back.
Lindsay is the all-time leader in all-purpose yards and yards from scrimmage at Colorado and is second in rushing yards and fifth in points scored.
Season 2018
Lindsay signed an undrafted unrestricted free agent contract with the Denver Broncos on May 1, 2018.
After a memorable preseason, he finished the Broncos’ final schedule.
On the complexity list, Phillip was ranked third after third-round rookie Royce Freeman and expert Devontae Booker.
He rushed for 71 yards on 15 carries in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, with two receptions for 31 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Lindsay ran for 107 yards and had one four-yard greeting the next week in a 20–19 win over the Oakland Raiders.
With 100+ struggle yards in each of their first two games, he became the greatest undrafted performer in NFL history.
Lindsay was ejected from the Baltimore Ravens during Week 3 for throwing punches after making a mistake.
As the Broncos fell 14–27, he was limited to 20 rushing yards.

Football on Monday nights
Lindsay rushed for 69 yards and another rushing touchdown on Monday Night Football with the Kansas City Chiefs in Weeks 4, 11, 12, and thirteen.
Lindsay scored two touchdowns on the ground in a 23–22 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Then, in a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, he rushed for a season-high 110 yards and a touchdown.
Finally, he won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award after rushing for 157 yards and two touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.
Phillip was named to his first Pro Bowl on December 18, 2018. As a result, he became the first undrafted offensive rookie in NFL history to be selected to the Pro Bowl.
Phillip stated in one of the interviews that he wants to organize his combine for the people who choose who gets invited to the NFL Combine.
“I’m going to get them some cute little shorts and some weights so they can get in shape,” she says. I’ll give them a couple of months before sending out invitations.”
Lindsay injured his wrist against the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football on December 24, 2018. Before the Broncos’ game last season, he was positioned on injured fallback.
Phillip finished his first season with 1,278 total yards from the struggle (1,037 running yards, 241 receiving yards).
He also scored 10 touchdowns on grueling carries, nearly matching Royce Freeman’s total. He was named to the All-Rookie Team of the Professional Football Writers Association.
Lindsay joined Bobby Humphrey (1989), Terrell Davis (1995), and Olandis Gary (1995) as the fourth Denver Broncos running back to win this award (1999).
From 2019 to the present
On Monday Night Football, Lindsay made his return from injury against the Oakland Raiders. In the 24-16 loss, he ran 11 times for 43 yards and completed four passes for 23 yards.
Phillip was an outspoken opponent of the Green Bay Packers. As the Broncos fell 27-16, he carried 21 times for 81 yards and two scores while also completing four passes for 49 yards.
Lindsay rushed 15 times for 114 yards and one score while playing for the Los Angeles Chargers, and caught four catches for 33 yards.
By a score of 20-13, the Broncos won their first game of the season.
Lindsay carried 19 times for 109 yards and a score in the 27–17 victory over the Detroit Lions.
In addition, Lindsay became the first undrafted player in NHL history to accomplish this feat in his first two seasons.
Lindsay rushed for 24 yards against the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football in 2020 before departing with a toe injury.

The Broncos are behind 16–14 in the game without Lindsay. He made his return from injury against the New England Patriots in Week 6.
Lindsay rushed for 101 yards on the ground in the 18–12 triumph.

Injury and Suspension
They caught Phillip throwing fists after Sunday’s 27-14 loss to the Ravens in September 2018. Lindsay then claimed that all he was trying to do was punch the football.
As a result, he received a one-game suspension; however, he again refused the league’s punishment, which turned out to be much worse afterward.
Phillip Lindsay had been dealing with a wrist ailment since December 24, 2018.
He tore his wrist ligament in the second half of the Broncos’ loss to the Oakland Raiders, and thus missed the Broncos’ season finale against the Chargers.
Lindsay suffered a pedal toe injury in Week 1 against the Titans two years later, on September 14, 2020. He did, however, miss the final three games owing to this injury.
He suffered a head cerebral concussion not long after, which was fortunately not serious. In the Broncos’ Week 7 game against the Chiefs, he was hurt in the first half.
He had a slight knee injury during the Broncos’ game against the New Orleans Saints on November 29, 2020.
Lindsay’s most recent injury occurred on December 19, 2020, when the Broncos lost to the Bills and he suffered a knee injury. He also had a hip ailment at the time, thus he missed the rest of the 2020 season.
