Queen Elizabeth died on Thursday which shocked everyone and numerous questions were raised about what will they do with her dogs. People were curious to know who will take the dogs.

Queen Elizabeth is a pet lover obviously. She died at the age of 96 as she was kept under medical supervision. Apart from everything people were keener to know what will the oral family do with her dogs.

As Queen was a major animal lover and she had owned a total of 30 corgis to date. However, four corgis were there with her till her death.

The eldest one among four corgis is Candy who is 13 years old. Though, Queen decided not to add more dogs because she “didn’t want to leave any young dog behind.” Additionally, Queen Elizabeth was gifted Muick when her husband, Prince Philip was in the hospital in the year 2021.

Likewise, her son, Prince Andrew, and her granddaughters gifted her corgi again on Philip’s 100th birthday.

When Prince Philip was at the hospital, Queen’s third son, Prince Andrew gifted her Fergus to cheer her up. After Philip’s death, Fergus also died and Andrew again gave his family another puppy, Sandy.

Though, it was a symbol of love given by Prince Andrew to his mom as he knew his mom is a dog lover. The fourth name is Lizzie who is also the proud owner of a prize-winning cocker spaniel. Lizzie was welcomed in the year 2022 of January.

Furthermore, Ingrid Seward who is a royal biographer stated,

“She loves animals and she absolutely adores dogs. They were her first love and they will be her last.”

The love for animals began in Queen Elizabeth when her parents brought the first corgi into their palace. The corgi name was Dookie. Later, Queen also had her second corgi named, Susan on the occasion of her 18th birthday.

Susan was gifted by her dad, King George in the year 1944. Moreover, Susan gave birth to a few puppies in the year 1949.

Who took the dogs after Queen’s demise?

As we know, Queen Elizabeth was gifted dogs by her son Prince Andrew. So, we can know from this that Andrew is also similar to his mother in the case of loving animals.

Therefore, after Queen’s death, he and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson decided to take the dogs to their palace. People were often sure that it will be Prince Andrew for sure as he gifted his mom, corgi, and dorgi.

Though, the sources claimed,

“The corgis will return to live at Royal Lodge with the duke and duchess. It was the duchess who found the puppies that were gifted to Her Majesty by the duke.”

Moreover, Sarah Ferguson also expressed her love for her former mother-in-law saying,

“To me, she was the most incredible mother-in-law and friend. I will always be grateful to her for the generosity she showed me in remaining close to me even after my divorce. I will miss her more than words can express.”

After hearing that Andrew is taking care of Queen Elizabeth II’s dogs, people were happy and relieved at the same time. They believe that the royal dogs are in good hands and QUeen would love that if she was alive.
