Sharma’s first test double century came during his third test in South Africa in 2019. (212 runs).

Sharma was a key contributor to India’s victory in the series during the 2021 England Tour of England by hitting 345 runs.

Later, when India played its first away series against England, Sharma scored 127 runs to reach his first Test 100 outside of his home country.

An ODI career

Rohit Sharma made his debut for India against Ireland on June 23, 2007, in Belfast.

After Virat Kohli decided to take a break during the Sri Lanka series, Rohit Sharma was given his maiden international ODI captaincy in 2017.

Sharma reached his 800th ODI international run in March 2019 with a total of 56 runs. With 1,490 runs in the same year, he also broke the record for most runs scored in a calendar year.
