Roy’s full birth name is Roy Denzil Hibbert, however, he is most often known as Roy Hibbert. Similarly, Roy Hibbert was born in Queens, New York, on December 11st, 1986.

The Toronto Raptors selected Roy as the 17th overall choice in the 2008 NBA Draft. Similarly, In July 2008, Roy was dealt to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Jermaine O’Neal.

Likewise, On July 15, Roy signed a professional contract with the Indiana Pacers.

Further, Roy was also chosen to play in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game. And, In 10 minutes, Roy scored three points on 1-3 shooting from the field.

Similarly, Roy had nine blocks against the Orlando Magic in Game 1 of the first round of the 2012 NBA playoffs.

Career Extension

Again, On July 13, 2012, Roy re-signed a four-year, $58 million contract with the Indiana Pacers.

Similarly, Roy had 24 points and 12 rebounds in an Indiana Pacers victory against the New York Knicks in game 3 of the 2013 Eastern Conference semifinals.

Further, Roy also contributed 25 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks to the team’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2013. Also, The next year, Roy was named an East All-Star reserve. And, In 12 minutes of action, Roy averaged 8 points on 4-5 shooting.

Following that, Roy went four postseason games without scoring, breaking the NBA record for most scoreless postseason games by an All-Star.

Los Angeles Lakers

On July 9, 2015, Roy was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a second-round choice in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Likewise, Roy made his debut with the Los Angeles Lakers in October 2015, averaging 12 points and ten rebounds against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Furthermore, Roy appeared in 81 of 82 Lakers games. As a result, Roy’s (5.9) points per game remain his career low.

Charlotte Hornets
