American professional basketball player Ryan James Anderson most recently played for the Houston Rockets. He represented the California Golden Bears in college basketball.

He was third in the nation in rebounding with 9.9 per game and led the Pac-10 in scoring with 21.1 points per game (ranked 18th in the US).
On April 3, 2008, Ryan finally announced his intention to forgo his remaining two years of collegiate eligibility and enter the NBA draft.
Professional Career
On June 26, 2008, Ryan was selected by the New Jersey Nets as the 21st overall pick in the NBA Draft.
He played his first NBA game on October 29, 2008, against the Washington Wizards. Ryan played in 66 games in his rookie season with New Jersey, averaging 7.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game.
On June 25, 2009, Ryan was part of a deal that sent Vince Carter, Tony Battie, Rafer Alston, and Courtney Lee to the Orlando Magic.

In 63 games for Orlando in 2009–10, he played a total of 14.5 minutes per game while averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds. Ryan played in nine postseason games and made six starts during the regular season.
