Selena Gomez revealed that she threw a wedding-themed 30th birthday party with her loved ones. She also reveals her mental breakdown and psychotic break in the year 2016 and her struggles in the “My Minds and Me” documentary.
Selena Gomez celebrated her 30th birthday with her close friends. In an episode of Rolling Stone, she explained about the end of her 20s on July 22, 2022. This year’s birthday was memorable for Selena as she explained. Since she is single but she threw a star-studded wedding birthday party among her close friends.
The friends include Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Francia Raisa, Camila Cabello, and Bellie Ellish. Also, Gomez stated that her friends made her 20s very very special so she is thankful as well. Her little sister, Gracie also joined the birthday bash.
Similarly, Selena also stated,
“I thought I would be married by now, so I threw myself a wedding.”
Further, Gomez added, “We had lovely drinks, and it was beautiful, and then my friend Cara [Delevingne] comes in and brings strippers.So I would like to say it was a mixture of sophisticated and hysterical.”

Likewise, Selena Gomez posted a black-and-white smiling picture and expresses her thankfulness to everyone, especially her loved ones and followers. She also talked about her good and bad journeys in her 20s. Furthermore, she also said,
“My twenties were a journey through good, hard and beautiful moments that I will never forget. Each of them has shaped me into the person that I am today. I am someone who is still learning, but is more certain about what matters and what she wants.”
She later continued, “And I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’. It was one of those moments where you look in her eyes and there’s nothing there. It was just pitch black. It’s so scary. You’re like, ‘F–k this. This needs to end. We need to go home.”

The unwanted negative thought crosses Selene’s mind so she couldn’t handle herself and she begins to cry. Following this, Gomez decided to move on from her past even with many problems. In addition to that, Gomez was diagnosed with bipolar disorder so she decided to join a psychiatrist for mental health.
“I didn’t want to go to a mental health hospital. I didn’t want to, but I didn’t want to be trapped in myself in my mind anymore. I thought, ‘My life is over.’ I thought, ‘This is how I’m going to be forever.'”

Later, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was hospitalized. Moreover, Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey found out about her daughter via TMZ. According to Mandy,
“They called me and wanted to know what my daughter was doing in the hospital with a nervous breakdown. She didn’t want anything to do with me. I was scared she was going to die. You hang on as tight as you can and try to help them with their treatment and that’s the hardest thing to do — to then go to bed and hope that they wake up the next day. … It’s a miracle she got out, but there’s always a fear it’s going to happen again and that hurt us so much.”

Though, Selena Gomez after her treatment really feels sorry for her mom and her stepdad as well. The way she treated them was because of her problems.
In the year 2018, she spent two weeks in rehab for anxiety and depression because of which she avoided alcohol. Gomez has explained all in detail in her documentary which will be released on November 4.
