A professional basketball player for Virtus Bologna of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A and the EuroLeague, Jesusemilore Talodabijesu “Semi” Ojeleye is Nigerian-American.

Early Life & Family 

Ojeleye’s full name is Jesusemilore Talodabijesu. The basketball player attended Ottawa High School, which is about an hour’s drive from Kansas City, and was raised in Kansas.

In order for his father, Ernest, to complete his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, his parents moved from Nigeria to Kansas.

His older brother Victory played basketball for Kansas State from 2008 to 2011 and his mother Joy is a registered nurse.

Ojeleye’s college basketball career was started by Coach Mike Krzyzewski at Duke and continued at Southern Methodist. After being named the AAC Player of the Year and averaging 18.9 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Mustangs, Ojeleye signed with the Celtics.

Semi made the decision to transfer to SMU in search of a bigger role. He also helped the team win the regular season and tournament championships of the American Athletic Conference in 2016–17. (AAC).

Semi Ojeleye: Diet 

Many people have wondered how Ojeleye got his muscular frame ever since he joined the league; “Muscles Jesus” is just one of the many monikers he has amassed.

Ojeleye declared for the 2017 NBA draft after his redshirt junior year was over. However, he chose not to work with an agency, leaving the door open for him to join the Mustangs. Ojeleye was chosen out of 67 applicants to attend the 2017 NBA Draft Combine.

He announced that his college career would end and that he would enter the draft after a few standout performances. The Boston Celtics selected Ojeleye with the 37th overall pick in the second round as well.

On October 17, 2017, Ojeleye made his NBA debut against the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 102-99 loss.

.In addition, he started Game 5 of their playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks and limited Giannis Antetokounmpo to 16 points.

Ojeleye and the Milwaukee Bucks agreed to a veteran’s minimum one-year contract on August 6, 2021.

He was a party to a four-team agreement that included the Los Angeles Clippers on February 10, 2022. He was released on March 26.

Semi Ojeleye was given the 2019 Community Champion Award in recognition of his assistance with a neighborhood nonprofit.

The Boston Celtics raised more than $1.2 million for local charities during their 15th annual Shamrock Foundation Tip-Off Gala in Boston.

In their recently renovated art studio, students at the Wright Science and Technology Academy in Chelsea, Massachusetts, also found their creative side.

Thanks to CBD’s collaboration with The Shamrock Foundation, the renovation of the sixth art studio was made possible. Additionally, funding has previously been provided to schools in Rhode Island and the greater Boston area for programs designed to support the arts in public school districts.
