Shake Milton

American professional basketball player Malik Benjamin “Shake” Milton plays for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association. He played basketball for Southern Methodist University from 2015 until 2018.

Early Life, Parents, and Education

Malik Benjamin Milton, a citizen of the United States, was born on September 26, 1996, in Savannah, Georgia.

When he was born, his father decided that he would become a basketball player. Milton’s father, Myron Milton, tragically passed away when Milton was just 11 years old.

His father’s heart was abnormally enlarged due to cardiomyopathy, a disorder that makes it difficult for the heart to adequately pump blood.

Milton went to his hometown’s elementary school. He joined the school’s basketball squad when he was a youngster.

Milton finished his level of instruction and then proceeded to Owasso High School to continue his education.

The University of Oklahoma then extended an offer to Milton to pursue a college degree.

Milton stands at 6 feet 5 inches. Because of his attractive, athletic body, he appears older than his age.  Shake has the NBA record for the longest wingspan, measuring 7 feet.

Malik Benjamin maintains his weight by following a healthy diet plan.

Career

Milton played basketball for the school team when he was younger. Realizing his potential, his father made the choice to enroll alongside him at Owasso High School.

Shake played for Owasso for three seasons. He averaged 29.7 points per contest.

College Career

After 2016, Milton moved to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, to pursue a hobby there. In his first game, he played against the Oklahoma University team.

Shake was selected for the AAC All-Rookie Team for the Southern Mustangs. He had a lot of luck getting the honor during his first year on the team.

Milton also traveled to Croatia as part of a humanitarian mission to play basketball against Croatian opponents.

He played in 30 games as a freshman at SMU, scoring 10.5 points, dishing out 2.7 assists, and grabbing 3.0 rebounds per game.

Milton also took part in 57 games for the team throughout the course of the next two seasons. As a result, Shake’s numbers improved, and the coach was happy with him.

NBA Career

Milton was chosen by the NBA in 2018 after having an outstanding collegiate basketball season. He was chosen to play professionally by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round.

However, the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers. After that, Milton and the 76ers reached a two-way agreement. Later, he decided to join the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NBA G League’s Delaware Blue Coats.

Milton’s big day came on November 30, 2018. He played against the Washington Wizards in his debut contest. In his first game, he had five points and two assists.

This season, Milton has participated in 20 games for the Philadelphia 76ers. He recorded game averages of 4.4 points, 0.9 assists, and 1.8 rebounds.

Milton set a career-high with 13 passes in a single game while playing for the Atlanta Hawks. In March 2020, he set a career-high with 39 points, shattering the NBA record.

Milton is enjoying himself immensely while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. Because he doesn’t want to play for other teams, he decided to extend the contract for an additional three years. Milton will continue to live there until 2022.

Personal Life

Shake Milton is a male who is not married right now. He is not dating anyone right now. His detractors point out that he’s previously kept at least one relationship going for a full year.

In addition, Milton has put off finding a girlfriend for at least two years. Prior to anything else, he wants to focus on growing his career with the Philadelphia 76ers.
