Shakira decides to shift to Miami from Spain for her mental peace as she is dealing with a breakup recently. Along with the breakup, she is also facing up to eight years in jail after Spanish authorities claimed her of tax fraud
Shakira is leaving Barcelona. Know the reason
Shakira is dealing with two problems at the same time! For the sake of finding peace and spending time with her family, she is shifting to Miami. As there the pop singer has a very private and palatial, waterfront mansion. Antonio who works with her brother stated regarding this matter,
“Miami is her home. Her parents live here, her brother lives here, and her niece and nephew, too. She doesn’t have any family in Spain. It’s a different environment from Barcelona.”
Recently, she had a breakup with her long-term partner, Gerard Pique after being together for 11 years. Similarly, they have two sons together named, Milan and Sasha. The reason for their breakup is because of Gerard cheating Shakira.

Likewise, according to the sources, Pique was found secretly messaging other women including Brazilian model Suzy Cortez. Not only her, but he was also dating Clara Chia Marti for months.
Talking more about this duo, Shakira and Gerard first met in the year 2010 during the World Cup in South Africa. Furthermore, the singer attended the World Cup to perform “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”. Meanwhile, Pique was the player for his country, Spain, the winning team that year.
After meeting each other for two months they became together but separated in June 2022. However, they both shares the same birthday, February 2. Though, the age is different as Shakira is 10 years older than Pique.

Shakira Legal issues| Tax Fraud
On the other hand, Shakira is facing another problem along with the breakup. Additionally, the authorities of Spain claimed she was of tax fraud and announced that she should be in prison for eight years.
According to the sources, she has to pay $14.5 million in taxes between the years 2012 and 2014. And, if she is proved guilty, Shakira will have to pay $23.5 million as a fine.

However, the “Queen of Latin Music” denies the allegations and says she is innocent and says that she was in the Bahamas during that period. Moreover, her rep stated on behalf of her,
“Shakira has always cooperated and abided by the law, demonstrating impeccable conduct as an individual and a taxpayer, and faithfully following the counsel of PriceWaterhouse Coopers, a prestigious and globally recognized tax firm.”
“Unfortunately, the Spanish Tax Office, which loses one out of every two lawsuits with its taxpayers, continues to violate her rights and pursue yet another baseless case. Shakira is confident that her innocence will be proven by the end of the judicial process.”
Though, shifting from Barcelona to Miami, the suggestion was given by her friends for her mental health and leaving bad memories in Spain.
