Naomi Judd was a very well-known and famous American country music singer and a songwriter who died of the disease of mental illness.
Ashley Judd, the daughter of the late Naomi Judd appeared on Good morning America to reveal the manner of her mother’s death with the interviewer Diane sawyer.
Judd and her family decided to share the cause of death with the world to raise awareness of the mental illness. She thought it would help those who are suffering from mental illness.
Not just that, she and her family wanted to share the story of her mother Naomi’s death rather than any other secondhand source.

Judd died of a self-inflicted gunshot at her home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee on April 30th, 2022. This 76-year-old woman was depressed and was struggling with panic attacks and suicidal thoughts.
Her medication had a lot of side effects such as alopecia, and edema, which would stress her out.
Her daughter announced the death by tweet that they experienced a tragedy by losing their beautiful mom due to mental illness.
Ashley talks about loss of her Mother
She told: “Our mother couldn’t hang on until she was inducted into the Hall of Fame by her peers,” .
“That is the level of catastrophe of what was going on inside of her, because the barrier between the regard in which they held her couldn’t penetrate into her heart, and the lie the disease told her was so convincing.”

She also revealed about the final days of her mother in Tenessee,
“It was a mixed day,” she explained. “I visit with my mom and pop every day when I’m home in Tennessee, so I was at the house visiting as I am every day. Mom said to me, ‘Will you stay with me?’ and I said, ‘Of course I will.’… I went upstairs to let her know that her good friend was there and I discovered her. I have both grief and trauma from discovering her.”

Larry Strickland, husband of Naomi Judd in grief says that she was in a “FRAGILE” state before committing suicide.

The couple were married since May 1989. He gave a moving speech for his late wife at ‘A River Of Time‘ on Sunday.
“Naomi never met a stranger” he began while taking the stage alongside her daughters, Ashley Judd and Wynonna Judd.
He was seen reflecting on some of his fondest memories with the Grammy-winning country artist prior to her tragic suicide.
He stated that “She would start a conversation with anyone who made eye contact with her, and we would end up standing 10, 20, 30 minutes on a sidewalk while she talked to a complete stranger about their passions and their dog,” .
Larry also said that the tour in Vienna, Austria, was the last tour with Naomi. Unfortunately, then also she ended up flying home alone so that she could attend the Hall of Fame induction.
Just one day before her death she landed in Chicago.
“I was really scared about her flying alone all the way from Vienna back to Nashville cause I knew how fragile she was”. “Well, she made the flight home without any problem.” He shared with the crowd.

Ashley Judd in the interview revealed the cause of death
She was visiting her mother at her home when she died. She revealed that she went outside to greet a friend of her mother’s who had stopped by, and when she went upstairs to tell her mother that the friend had arrived, she found her mother dead.
“Mother used a firearm,” Ashley said. “That’s the piece of information that we are very uncomfortable sharing, but understand that we’re in a position that if we don’t say it, someone else is going to.”
The emotional episode was televised days after Ashley Judd spoke about her mother’s tragic passing on Good Morning America, revealing that her mother died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“We’re aware that although grieving the loss of a wife and a mother, we are, in an uncanny way, a public family,” the actress said. “So that’s really the impetus for this timing. Otherwise, it’s obviously way too soon. So that’s important for us to say upfront.”
When we are talking about mental illness, it’s very important to be clear and make the distinction between our loved one and the disease, the actress shared in the interview. It’s very real. It lies, it’s savage.
