“Succession” creator Jesse Armstrong was seen disrespecting the new King Charles during his speech at the Emmy on Monday night.

The UK native Jesse Armstrong said in front of a huge mass audience in Los Angeles said that,

“Big week for successions. The new king in the UK … for us,”

He said that it is a big week of success. He was talking about his winning and King Charles being the new king of the country. Jesse also said that he received more votes than King Charles.

He was acknowledging the television academy’s votes which his team earned.

Everyone in the audience enjoyed his humor and Jesse further added that he has not reached that position like prince Charles but they both leave it up to people.

“I’m not saying we’re more legitimate in our position than he is. We’ll leave that up to other people.”

He then changed the topic from Royal to the success he received in his HBO shows. Jesse said that he is immensely grateful to have this honor and it is all a team effort.

“We are incredibly grateful to have this honor,” Armstrong said. “This group is extraordinary. It’s a team effort.”

Everyone who was looking at the award show had some mixed feelings regarding the gig he raised on Charles. There were many people who tweeted as it was a cringe to include the Royal family while winning a title for the series.

“winning Best Drama and cracking a joke about the royal succession on national TV is quite a choice,” one person tweeted, while another person said, “the royal family succession bit during Succession’s best drama speech I cringe.”

Definitely some fans cringed but some actually were amused with his words. They mentioned saying why is he accepting the award for succession looking for enemies in the Royal family.
