Tyrus is the ring and stage name of American professional wrestler George Murdoch, who also works as a cable news host.

He competes in professional wrestling for the National Wrestling Alliance and is the current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.

Early life, Family, and Education

Greenspan was born in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Ruth Minnie (née Simon), a nurse, and Alexander B. Greenspan, an accounting manager.

Murdoch, whose mother and father are both different ethnicities, is multiracial. He asserts that when he was born, his mother was 15 years old and his father was 19 years old.

In 2018, Murdoch disclosed a childhood incident in which his abusive father beat him and caused him to lose an eye.

His mother split up with his father as a result of this occurrence. Murdoch claims that even though his mother went back to live with her parents, they did not welcome him and his brother since their father was black.

Murdoch walked out of the house when he was 15 years old, but he and his brother eventually returned to live with their mother.

Tyrus graduated from Quartz Hill High School in Los Angeles County, California, in 1990, and enrolled for the first time at Antelope Valley College in 1992.

At the University of Nebraska at Kearney, he began his teacher preparation program in 1995. He played college football while still in school.

Tyrus before his Wrestling Career

Even before he joined the wrestling team, Tyrus wanted to become a teacher. Among other things, he has served as Snoop Dogg’s bodyguard.

Tyrus was transferred to Deep South Wrestling (DSW), a WWE development territory, after signing a deal with the company. But he made his debut in September 2006, going by the ring name G-Rilla and assuming the persona of a hoodlum.

In his debut contest with the group, on September 7, he won over Big Bully Douglas in a dark fight. Tyrus made his Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) debut on September 16, 2014, at TNA’s television tapings, teaming up with Ethan Carter III (EC3).

Just moments after EC3 introduced him, he faced Shark Boy in his debut wrestling match on the October 15th episode of Impact Wrestling, which he promptly won.
