At the age of 17, Vanessa began a modeling career. Her first endeavor was the rap group “The Eastsidazvideo “for “G’d Up.”
While he was working on an unreleased album, she met Kobe Bryant at the same time. Vanessa then made an appearance at the 2003 Teen Choice Awards and the 2004 MTV Movie Award.

Her dreams were dashed just when she was beginning to believe that she and Kobe could spend all of their time together.
When she learned that her adored husband and daughter had perished in a helicopter crash, her world fell apart in before of her eyes.
On January 26, 2020, the helicopter crashed, killing the basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, 13, and the other seven passengers.

Despite the tragedy, Vanessa persevered and continued to live her life through the memories she had with Kobe and their daughter. Two weeks after their deaths, Kobe and Gianna were both interred at a private funeral service.
But on February 24, a memorial ceremony was conducted at the Staples Center to allow the public an opportunity to pay tribute to them. She also mentioned that her girls offer her strength as she deals with the sorrow.
