Will Smith got banned for 10 years after he slapped Chris Rock in front of the audiences and media. The whole incident happened after the comedian joked about Smith’s hair. She has been open about her alopecia journey so everybody is known about her condition.

However, Rock joked about this sensitive topic that Will couldn’t handle himself. As Chris said, “Can’t wait for ‘G.I. Jane 2” where G.I. Jane is the movie where the actress was bald.

So, this was the trigger point for Will and he went to the stage and slapped Chris Rock. Although, his action wasn’t acceptable so he was banned from the Academy Awards for 10 years. Even though, the actor has publicly apologized twice to Chris Rock and all his followers for the mistake he did. He posted a video on his Instagram account saying,

“I was fogged out by that point. It’s all fuzzy. I have reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he is not ready to talk and when he is he will reach out. So I will say to you Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I am here whenever you are ready to talk.”

Moreover, Smith also said sorry to Chris’s family and his family as well. According to him,

“I spent the last three months replaying and understanding the nuances and complexities of what happened at that moment. And I’m not going to try and unpack all of that right now, but I can say to all of you that there is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave at that moment. There is no part of me that thinks that’s the optimal way to handle feelings of disrespect or insults.”

“I made a choice on my own, from my own experience and my history with Chris. I’m sorry Jada and I want to say sorry to my kids and my family for the heat that I brought on all of us.”

Apart from this, Emancipation will be released in theatres on December 2 and on Apple TV+ on Dec 9. In addition to that, Will Smith played a role of a slave named, Peter, and the film is already on hype.
