Bounou took his place in the second leg and led his team to a 4-1 victory. On July 23, 2015, he was loaned back to the Aragonese team for another year.
Girona
Bounou and Girona, a rival league team, agreed to a two-year, permanent contract on July 12, 2016.
In his first season, he and René Román split the games evenly and were promoted to second place. He played precisely half the games.
He extended his contract until June 2021 in January 2019 after moving up to the top-flight club’s first choice.
Sevilla
After being demoted on September 2, 2019, along with the Catalans, Bono joined Sevilla FC at the top league on a one-year loan.
He received praise for his regular participation in the domestic cup and as the team won the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League thanks to his performances against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarterfinals, where he saved a penalty from Ral Jiménez to earn a 1-0 win, as well as in the 2-1 semi–final victory over Manchester United, and ultimately his decisive save of Romelu Lukaku’s one-on-one strike, which helped the team win the final.

On September 4, 2020, Bono committed to a long-term, four-year contract with the Andalusians.
He scored his first goal as a professional goalkeeper on March 21 of the following year, against Real Valladolid, in the waning moments of a game to maintain a 1-1 tie.
Worldwide career
Bounou had the option of representing Morocco or Canada but chose the latter. He participated in one game with the under-20 squad in the 2012 Toulon Tournament.
In 2012, Yassine was also selected for the 18-man under-23 Olympic team.
After Morocco was eliminated from the competition during the group round, he took Mohamed Asif’s spot.
Bounou was chosen to start a friendly match against Burkina Faso on August 14, 2013.
The following day, he made his debut, playing the whole second half of Tangier’s eventual 1-2 loss.
