Davies was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 26th round of the 2011 MLB draft and agreed to a $575,000 signing bonus.

Milwaukee Brewers
The Orioles traded Davies to the Milwaukee Brewers on July 31, 2015, in exchange for outfielder Gerardo Parra.
The Brewers then demoted Davies to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League. In five starts as a representative, he was 1-2 with a 5.00 ERA.
Similarly, in six starts with the Brewers on September 1, he finished 3-2 with a 3.71 ERA.
Following that, he had four quality starts, including three in a row, and the team went 4-2 during his starts.
